News: Jericho Fans Buy Ads

News: Jericho

SCI FI Wire is reporting that Jericho Fans have sponsored more than 200 local advertisements on cable TV in an hope to return the show to the air.

"Fans of the twice-cancelled CBS series Jericho are continuing their campaign to bring the show back by sponsoring more than 200 local ad spots to air on cable TV stations in the Los Angeles area."

Based on what we saw last season, i would rather see the show dead. As it was clear that the production team had run out of ideas and stories. Only time will tell if the fan's efforts are in vain.

News: Jericho: Movie / Change of Studios Possible

There are a lot of whispers around the internet today about the possible return of Jericho for a third season or maybe even a feature length movie.

For fans that would like to get behind the movement there is a great post here which explains what, who and how to get in touch with.
Jericho was saved once, is it possible again for a second time? The ratings for the final episode of Jericho clocked in at about 6 million viewers. I also read that a rerun of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit got over double that...

Rant: Farewell Jericho

Rant / Farewell Jericho

Jericho was built on a refresh concept, something that television had been lacking. Season one took us on a ride of putting the pieces together of what had happened. Finding ourselves in a small town with little news from the outside world was excellent.

The twists and turns were creative, the characters real and captivating. Season one was excellent television. Then CBS pulled the plug. Fans were outraged that things were left in such a state. CBS green lighted 7 new episodes.

Season two was not so well executed but the season finale redeemed itself. If the show could have held on to its original themes things could have been so different.

Farewell Jericho, it was good while it lasted.

Summary: Jericho: Season 2

Season 2 / Jericho / Summary
"Season one of Jericho was a hard act to follow, at least season two finished with some closure."

With Jericho season one finishing on a cliff-hanger we saw fans rally worldwide seeking closure then it was announced that Jericho wasn't returning. Then unbelievably our prayers were answered and Jericho was renewed.

With the fate of Jake's father quickly dealt with it left the writers questioning... now what? The rest of the season went down hill fast. We had been spoilt with good writing in season one and now we were left with what seemed like writers without a cause.

It wasn't until Episode 6 "Sedition" where we had a twist and the master mind of the attacks was revealed. Four days after the airing of that episode CBS broke the news that Jericho was not being renewed. From what I had seen from these six episodes I wasn't surprised.

The season finale Patriots and Tyrants was the highlight, it was almost enough to make me forget the other six episodes of the season. I greatly enjoyed the first season of Jericho it was enough to make me sit through six episodes of season two which focused on American politics.

Jericho could have gone in so many different directions, maybe if another plot line was followed it would have been renewed. It also seemed like the writers hadn't through beyond the bombs. The first season was had to follow and remains my favourite. But I'm glad that the writers had the grace to finish season two with a bang and some closure.

Review: Jericho: Patriots and Tyrants

Season 2 / Episode 7 / "Patriots and Tyrants"
"Jericho redeems itself in the 11th hour - a glimpse what Jericho should have been."

I was worried about what to expect with the season two finale of Jericho. But I am extremely impressed with Jericho's final offering. They had the respect to lay Bonny to rest. Jake & Hawkins got themselves out of two very tight situations. It was excellent to be on the edge of`my seat not knowing if they were going to get through this or not.

If only the elements of this episode could have been reproduced throughout the second season, maybe it would have seen a third. To a degree I feel like this should have been the ending of season one and be done with. Overall I'm happy that Jericho has ended on such a high note. I kept watching because I really enjoyed the first season, they really lost touch there for a while. Here's to Jericho and everyone behind it.

News: Jericho Axed Again - No Surprise

LOS ANGELES (AP) — "Jericho," the post-apocalyptic CBS drama whose devoted fans rallied to save it from cancellation, has met its end.

With complete lack of surprise the CBS broke the news yesterday that Jericho's run has come to an end... again. In line with my reviews over the past weeks it was clear that Jericho had lost touch with what high rating television shows should be.

Unfortunately I think this axing is well deserved. I hope all involved move on to bigger and better things.

Review: Jericho: Sedition

Season 2 / Episode 6 / "Sedition"

"A step in the right direction to returning Jericho to what it should have been."

Finally some creative writing comes to the forefront and we have a twist! A shadow of its former self Jericho drags on. But this week we're reminded of what captured our imaginations in the first place.

The low point of this episode being Stanley's cardboard emotions when explaining why he killed Goetz.

The high point being the ending, like the first season we finally end with a twist!

Review: Jericho: Termination for Cause

Season 2 / Episode 5 / "Termination for a Cause"
"A predictable, unwitty script leaves actors paper like and emotionless."
Click to read review - may contain spoilers

After the senseless killing of one of the most human characters on the show. The writers have the good vs evil stand off as the aftermath. The entire plot is predictable and the actors scripted reactions to the death of Bonny are laughable.

From the mole, to the use of family members as leverage, to the ending two scenes. Savy viewers see it all coming.

I'm afraid this is another nail in the coffin of Jericho.

Review: Jericho: Oversight

Season 2 / Episode 4 / "Oversight"
"A jump the shark attempt to keep you watching..."
Click to read review - may contain spoilers

A fresh idea for a show is falling apart with a poorly written storyline. Season one was a joy to watch with its twists and turns every episode, now it's a chore.

We end this episode with a jump the shark effort taking out one of the most original likeable characters in the series. With an act from Bonny that appears completely out of character she sacrifices herself in an attempt to keep the audience's attention. The thirty minutes before this is dry and not worth mentioning.

I hope the team behind Jericho can pull up out of this nose drive.

Review: Jericho: Jennings & Rall

Season 2 / Episode 3 / "Jennings & Rall"
"Yawn."
Click to read review - may contain spoilers

Maybe it would have been best if Jericho was left at a one season series. Again I am finding myself distant from the characters, unconcerned with their well being.

A virus puts the citizens of Jericho in danger, I find myself almost hoping for an outbreak as this would be an expected twist like the beginning days of Jericho.

I ask the Television Gods that they save Jericho from the land of boredom which they are currently residing.

Review: Jericho: Condor

Season 2 / Episode 2 / "Condor"
"Another step down the ladder of enjoyment. Things are looking down for the once fresh and exciting show."
Click to read review - may contain spoilers

After the cliff-hanger endings episode after episode last season I'm left with a feeling of doubt over the continued watch ability of Jericho. The well written and planned episodes of last season have been replaced by a dry and uninteresting political battle which we find ourselves currently focused on.

Had the writers thought beyond the bombs? It seems that they were lacking for ideas come season two. I've lost interest throughout this episode. I truly hope that Jericho can pick up the pace and save its viewers from a death by boredom.

Review: Jericho: Reconstruction

Season 2 / Episode 1 / "Reconstruction"
"Following a great first season, and a rally of fans worldwide - Jericho returns. But it disappoints..."
Click to read review - may contain spoilers

The first season of Jericho had me on the edge of my seat. Finally a new concept, something that wasn't another crime show. By the end of each episode we were given further clues into the Jericho world and who was the master mind of the unthinkable. Slowly episode by episode they built up the tension. With great anticipation I watched "Reconstruction" wonder what they had in store for Season two.

Half the episode is spent introducing us to the new army & company - Jennings & Rall now in power over the recovering USA. We're also informed of the current political situation.

Overall a "setup episode" for things to come, nothing really to review and with the end of episode normally leaving me with a sense of urgency to view the next. I am a little disappointed with the Presidents visit the best they could come up with.

Good to have Jericho back but I hope things improve.
