Review: Futurama: Obsoletely Fabulous

Season 4 / Episode 14 / "Obsoletely Fabulous"
"Bender takes centre stage in search of a more back to natural self."

You can tell that there is a pack of nerds behind Futurama and its one of it's strengths. Because nerds like me can relate to the geeky jokes. The world of technology is forever changing and this is what poor Bender is faced with this week - becoming obsolete and replaced by newer generation of technology.

An island of obsolete robots, Bender getting a down grade and being built out of wood - all pure comedy gold! Futurama has given robots such human qualities and its a riot to watch. My personal favourite has to be the waterwheel-powered robot Lisa & the cartridge unit robot.

Brilliant episode I don't think Futurama is going to become obsolete anytime soon!

Review: Futurama: Bend Her

Season 4 / Episode 13 / "Bend Her"
"A gender Bender focused episode."

Bender is such a unique character. But then again Futurama is such a unique show. What other animated show could tackle the subject of a robot wanting a sex change so he could compete in the Olympic Games and then has a Robot superstar fall in love with her/him.

What a great show, nothing is impossible. They are able to bring the most craziest storylines to life and make us laugh until we wet ourselves. What else makes Futurama great is that all of the past episodes link together and the story follows through. Unlike the Simpsons where everything starts fresh at the beginning of each episode.

Futurama's take on a females world through a male robot is hilarious! Another great episode!

Review: Futurama: The Sting

Season 4 / Episode 12 / "The Sting"
"A beehive of laughs."

I really enjoyed this episode. We revisit the backstory from season 1 that Planet Express's original crew died on a mission. It's great to see that a lot of time and planning has been put into Futurama.

The Sting is among my favourite Futurama Episodes. It's an endless ride of funny situation for the crew to be placed in and with a clever twist at the end. Futurama is so much more than a comedy and The Sting proves that. Showing us the different layers used throughout Futurama.

Excellent episode!

Review: Futurama: I, Roommate

Season 1 / Episode 3 / "I, Roommate"
"40,000 channels and only 150 of them have anything good on."

There's something about animated thieving, booze drinking fowl mouthed robots... Their hilarious! Also owls are the pests of the future... Great characters, extremely clever witty writing makes Futurama a festival of laughs.

Having show set in the future really works and with Fry to give us a sense of familiarity we're not left in the dark. Again I have to prise the team behind Futurama this is an excellent show.

Review: Futurama: The Series Has Landed

Season 1 / Episode 2 / "The Series Has Landed"
"One small step for Fry. One huge leap for comedy kind."

Futurama is fast becoming one of my favourite shows. Its appealing to all ages with its use of clever witt and with its different layers there is really something for everyone. This episode we're reintroduced to the Moon in the year 3000 that now has become a Theme Park.

Again what is so great about this show is the seemingly endless opportunities to make us laugh. With Fry leading us through the world of the year 3000 we can experience it with someone from our time. I didn't find myself laughing as much as I did for the premier episode but still some solid laughs to be had.

Fry is so loveably stupid and childlike he is the glue that holds together the world that is Futurama.

Review: Futurama: Space Pilot 3000

Season 1 / Episode 1 / "Space Pilot 3000"
"Welcome to the World of Tomorrow."

Right from the opening scene you know that Futurama brings something that TV has been missing for years. The clever comical writing is so refreshing and hilarious! The idea of the show is some what different and this is a huge advantage. The setting for Futurama also brings almost limitless opportunities for laughs.

We're introduced to the characters brilliantly and shown around the year 3000 through the eyes of the comically dim-witted Fry. In my opinion this is what TV has been missing. Funny on so many levels, more of an adult show compared to the Simpsons and you can tell there is an intelligent production team behind Futurama. Pure comedy gold.
