Review: Buffy the Vampire Slayer Comic: The Long Way Home, Part II

Season 8 / Comic 2 / "The Long Way Home, Part II"
"With 7 Seasons of getting to know the characters, they just jump off the pages."

I've never really been exposed to Comics before and I must say I'm converted. With the characters clearing set in your mind from the Television series. Its quite easy to pick up where season seven left off. The beauty of the comic series is that Joss can take things where he couldn't before. There really isn't any limits as there was on the television series.

In this issue we see Amy reintroduced as a villain and employed by the government to take out Buffy. There is a great Joss moment where it appears Buffy & Xander are going to get their freak on.

It's amazing that Joss's style can easily translate to any medium. He really isn't restricted by words and pictures on a page. He's work still rings through as if you were watching it on television. I look forward to the next instalment.

Review: Buffy the Vampire Slayer Comic: The Long Way Home, Part I

Season 8 / Comic 1 / "The Long Way Home, Part 1"
"Buffy is back in a new medium, which is less restrictive and Joss is taking full advantage of."

Buffy is back and in the form of a Comic. I'm reasonably new to the comic front but happy to see Buffy still kicking arse and with Joss behind the wheel its great to see his creation live on within his control.

The comic picks up soon after the ending of Season 7 of our television finale. With most of the gang present and evil still alive and kicking. The comic is beautifully illustrated and is written in only a way that Joss can.

The only downfall is that the instalment is too be, but its been a long time since my last Buffy fix. But the story is already forming nicely and so many possibilities for twisting things along the way in true Joss style.
