The ending of this episode is without question the most in your face of them all. Abel Koontz directly stating that Veronica's father isn't who she thinks it is. That's some powerful stuff, and it really makes sense after we discovered that Leanne Mars & Jake Kane were High School sweet hearts. It also makes further sense that Duncan would call things off seeing that Veronica and him would be brother and sister... yuck!
This episode didn't really have any major clarity until the closing scenes. It would be the first series in my knowledge to claim that two main characters being brother and sister and also to having a romantic relationship.
I can't wait to see how this pans out, wow this is going to be ground breaking television!
"Nothing eventful came to pass, but still worth the watch."Click to read review - may contain spoilers
In the overall measurement of the season this episode played little reference to the main themes of the show. But still if I had the option I wouldn't overlook "The Girl Next Door". We still discover that Jake Kane & Leanne Mars were a couple during High School, Weevil has a tattoo of Lilly on his back and there is something more to Duncan breaking up with Veronica.
This episode really didn't contain any huge news to the major mysteries in the show. But still it was interesting to watch the case unfold. We've learnt that there is more to the Duncan and Veronica break up and that Kane's and Mars's have a history.
Again Veronica Mars is a joy to watch, this has to be my favourite show of 2004.
"Vote 1 Veronica Mars."Click to read review - may contain spoilers
This week Veronica discovers that a major part of the evidence in the Lilly Kane case is in fact false, throwing the whole investigation into question. She also solves the case of the school president ballet, while sadly uncovering the narky-ness of a close friend Wanda Varner.
What I love about this show is that every episode is part of a bigger picture, every detail has been planned everything is painfully thought through. Its clear in every scene, every episode that it all has been painstakingly planned and executed.
It's great television when you can't solve the case before the on-screen hero can. Vote 1 Veronica Mars!

Within the opening four minutes of this episode Veronica is able to track down the soul reason her mother left town - Veronica has got serious skills or what? The episode beyond that is well, in lack of a nicer word... filler.
But this show has a way of making you forget that. Veronica Mars has a way of making you forget the seriousness of that issue, making you focus on the case. Veronica is prepared over look her birth father and love her true father, the one who has brought her up.
Oh and she also looked into a cult this week that really wasn't that evil. Beyond that not much happened in this episode, but Veronica magic made it seem like so much more.
