Review: The IT Crowd: The Work Outing

Season 2 / Episode 1 / "The Work Outing"
"True Comedy Genius."
Click to read review - may contain spoilers

Absolute comedy genius this week and what a great start to season two of The IT Crowd. How do Moss & Roy get themselves into such outrageous situations? When attending a gay musical with a workmate who appears to fancy Jen but a few signs point to him being homosexual. Once at the musical Moss & Roy get stage fright while going to the toilet because of the attendant. We see Roy use the disabled toilet and pull on the alarm thinking it was the flusher.

I haven't laughed this hard or long in a quite some time. Brilliant writing, quirky characters and outrageous situations had me laughing nonstop for the entire length of this episode. Comedy this funny is few and far between.

I was worried that the writers may have run out of material after season 1, but they have come back stronger than ever and have set the bar very high for the rest of the episodes.

I cannot recommend this show highly enough. This is a show that you can't afford to miss.

News: NBC's USA Version of The IT Crowd to be deleted!

There are confirmed reports that new boss of NBC Ben Silverman doesn't like the ideas behind the import of UK underground hit "The IT Crowd" and has scrapped the request for six episodes to be flimed. Kevin Reilly the previous head of NBC had originally given a green light to the production earlier this year.

The production of the American version of The IT Crowd also hit troubles when the actress playing Jen pulled the plug and to add further fuel to the fire has not been recast.

Is there really any British content that would have not translated to an American audience? Must American's remake everything in their own image? They had hired Richard Ayoade who was born in London to play his role again as Moss...

I'm disappointed to hear this news, I was looking forward to more nerdy fun. But more British IT Crowd will screen sometime in 2008!

Review: The IT Crowd: Calamity Jen

Season 1 / Episode 2 / "Calamity Jen"
"0118 999 881 999 119 725 3"

I really thought that the first episode of The IT Crowd would be hard to top. But they were able to pull it off with another great episode. From Jen's crazed shoe love, to Moss's inability to deal with a fire I haven't laughed this hard in quite some time.

The IT Crowd is outrageously funny mostly because the situations the characters are put in are outrageously stupid and it works on so many levels. My favourite parts of this episode would have to be the opening scene with the grandma "Has this ever happened to you?" and the new emergence number. Also have to mention Moss's email in regards to the fire.

I'm officially addicted and look forward to my fix of The IT Crowd next week.

Review: The IT Crowd: Yesterday`s Jam

Season 1 / Episode 1 / "Yesterday`s Jam"
"Have you tried turning it off and on again?"

Grade A comedy. For someone who works in I.T. I can relate to `The IT Crowd` on so many levels. For nerds and non-nerds alike its a laugh a minute. Like Roy's shirt "R.T.F.M." meaning "Read The F*#&ing Manual" it all adds up to make this a hilarious piece of television brilliance.

This episode we're introduced to the team. Who quickly realise that the new department manager Jen has no idea about computers... Instantly they want to complain to the boss, but they learn Denholm wants everyone to be a team player, they soon change their mind.

Another chunk of comedy gold from the UK! Extra points for the creative nerdy intro!
