Dexter : Season 3 Will "Change His Life Forever"

Are you wondering what is in store for our loveable serial killer by night Blood Spatter Analyst by day Dexter? Clyde Phillips who is the executive producer for the darker than most series has spilled the beans. He hints that Dexter might not be able to stay under the radar in Season 3....
"Dexter inadvertently sets in motion a chain of events that will change his life not only for this year, but change his life forever"
But that means we won't be going over old ground of the Season 2 manhunt.
"We’re done with that, but that doesn’t mean he’s not in great jeopardy. For Season 3, we had to basically start it all over. We really had to cut [the storyline] from whole cloth."
As reported earlier Jimmy Smits is joining the cast but not as an adversary to Dexter.
"He plays an assistant district attorney who is a rising star in the city of Miami. His brother dies in the first episode and he and Dexter form an alliance. That’s basically all I can tell you, other than the fact that Jimmy Smits is going to go, I believe, places he’s never explored before as an actor."
Julie Benz (Rita, Darla [Buffy & Angel]) returns in Season Three and Phillips says:
"[She will be] pivotal to what goes on in the year and is part of what changes Dexter’s life."
But Dexter won't find his soul, reports Phillips. If we did that the series would die and no one wants that.

I'm very much looking forward to the return of Dexter later this year.

News: Dexter Morgan is coming to Oz!

Dexter Morgan is coming to Australia. One of my favourite Television Series Dexter is finally coming to Australian Television in all its uncut glory.

On the 6th of July Channel Ten will be showing Dexter which is one of the modern day gems of television which seem to be few and far between.

Do yourself a favour and give this series a go. You will not be disappointed!

Dexter is an American television drama series based on the novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay and adapted for television by Emmy Award-winning screenwriter James Manos, Jr.

When Miami blood splatter expert Dexter Morgan is not solving murders, he's a serial killer committing them.

Orphaned at the age of four and harboring a traumatic secret, Dexter is adopted by a police officer who recognises Dexter's homicidal tendencies and guides his son to channel his gruesome passion for human vivisection in a constructive way - by killing those heinous perpetrators who are above the law or who have slipped through the cracks of justice.

A respected member of the police force, a perfect gentleman and a man with a soft spot for children, it's hard not to like Dexter. Although his drive to kill is unflinching, he struggles to emulate normal emotions he doesn't feel, and to keep up his appearance as a caring, socially responsible human being.

DEXTER is based on the compelling novel "Darkly Dreaming Dexter" by Jeff Lindsay, a South Florida native.

News: Dexter Renewed for Season 3

At the conclusion of tonight's episode it was confirmed that Dexter has been renewed for another season. This is great news I hope that they can continue to keep us mesmerised as they have for the past two seasons.

Season three of Dexter is due to air September 30, 2008.

Review: Dexter: Dexter (Pilot)

Season 1 / Episode 1 / "Dexter" (Pilot)
"Dark, edgy, powerful. This is exactly what Television is meant to be."
Click to read review - may contain spoilers

From the opening scene. From Dexter Morgan's first words to the audience - I'm addicted. Dexter's character has so many levels, a truly dark side yet we can all still relate to. We all wear a mask and have demons to hide.

Even the basic idea of having a member of law enforcement moonlighting as a crime fighting killer is powerful and unique. This is writing at its best, perfect casting, and every scene is painfully thought through frame by frame

All this adds up to a television show you must watch. I'm absorbing every second, captivated and engaged. Its a sheer delight to watching things unfold before your senses. Watch Dexter, shows like this don't come along very often.
