Sixty Second Review

Short reviews on everything pop culture.

What we`re about

We`re here to offer you our honest opinion of the popular and not so popular medium that is television. Maybe you agree maybe you don't. Let us know via the comments.

Farewell Skins

Monday saw the final episode of Skins, read my review. What did you think about Season Two? Want to know if Skins has been renewed for a third season? What do we currently know about season three? Skins returns in early 2009!

News: Moonlight Axed

Thanks for the memories, news today that Moonlight has been axed by the CBS. I personally found it a little hard to get into. But many fans have sent their OWN BLOOD to the network in hopes of having it renewed. But it appears that their efforts were in vain (pun intended).

I also read somewhere that Moonlight will end with a cliffhanger. Which is what fans enjoy so much, when their beloved show is axed AND left without a real ending. Closure, who needs it?

News: Dollhouse Granted Mid-Season Premier

It would appear that Fox are going to give Dollhouse a Mid-Season Premier later this year. Which is great news for fans of Joss Whedon. With the news of Fox's cancellation of New Amsterdam fresh on my mind I hope that they will give Dollhouse a better chance at success. But Dollhouse already had a large fan base in the wings, so I don't think I need to be so concerned.
I'm told FBC has picked up Joss Whedon's new Dollhouse (20th Century Fox TV) for mid-season. Given his rabid Whedonesques, who don't take rejection well, I don't see how the network could have said no this time around.

News: New Amsterdam Canceled

The Fox network has sealed the fate of New Amsterdam and it isn't good news.

Yesterday David Manson broke the news via email to another TV Blog.

Yes. Unfortunately, I received word yesterday that Fox has officially cancelled NA. I know this will be a disappointment to the many fans who campaigned so ardently for its renewal. I can only express my gratitude for their passion and hope that perhaps some other network will let John Amsterdam live.
It is possible that another network may let John continue his search for mortality. This is a huge disappointment for me as I was a huge fan of the show. It was finally something different, not another reality show.

New Amsterdam Forever are continuing to run their renewal campaign and you can do your part in saving the show by heading over there.

When will Fox learn that they aren't going to capture an audience if they don't give a show enough air time for people to fall in love with a show's characters or stories? New Amsterdam was doomed before it even began.

Fair well John Amsterdam - it was great while it lasted.
